Haringey Volunteer Centre promotes and supports the development of volunteering in the London Borough of Haringey.
Activities
Our main activity is to recruit and place volunteers within not-for-profit organisation through our Volunteering Service.
We also seek to:
- Raise awareness of the benefits that volunteering can offer individuals, organisations and the community.
- Create more volunteering opportunities, by helping voluntary, community and public sector organisations develop new roles for volunteers.
- Develop organisations, building their capacity to recruit, supervise and manage volunteers effectively.
- Campaign for increased funding and resources to develop volunteering in Haringey.

Towards 2012 and Beyond - A Volunteering Development Plan for Haringey
In October 2009 HAVCO published a Volunteering Development Plan for Haringey, to act as a strategic framework for volunteering in the borough. It was created as a practical tool to help develop both the quantity and quality of volunteering in Haringey.

Need Volunteers?
We help organisations find volunteers through our Brokerage Service. If you send us an outline of the role that you want volunteers to carry out, we will advertise your opportunities. When we find someone that meets your requirements, we will refer them on to you.

We are running a pilot project to recruit and match people who are interested in becoming a trustee within local voluntary organisations.
