Welcome to HAVCO
'Serving Haringey’s voluntary and community sector by promoting, representing and supporting its diverse needs'
HAVCO is the council for voluntary service in Haringey. We are an independent registered charity that exists to support, promote and develop voluntary and community organisations in Haringey.
We run a number of projects to support voluntary and community organisations in Haringey, including funding advice, community accountancy and Haringey's Volunteer Centre. All HAVCO's services are provided free of charge to voluntary and community organisations in Haringey.
HAVCO Launches Third Sector Survey
HAVCO has appointed WM Enterprise (WME) and GfK NOP to carry out a research exercise with Haringey’s third sector.
This exciting piece of research will collect information on the size and nature of the third sector in the borough. It will also give you an opportunity to let us know about the good work you’re doing and any support needs your organisation may have. The survey findings will enable HAVCO and its partners to continue to support the borough’s third sector and to measure the importance of the sector to Haringey’s economy.
It is vital that all third sector organisations – including community groups, social enterprises and registered charities of all sizes – are aware of the research. There will be a number of different ways in which to participate in the survey, including:
- An online survey which you will be sent full instructions about; or
- A paper questionnaire which will be sent directly to your organisation; or
- A 10 minute telephone interview with a researcher who will telephone your organisation directly.
The work has been commissioned in response to National Indicator 7, one of Haringey’s targets within its Local Area Agreement, which aims to measure the contribution that local government and partners make to the “environment for a thriving third sector.” For further information please contact Emma Roberts, lead researcher from WME on 020 7096 9923 or email: emmar@wm-enterprise.co.uk Alternatively, you can contact Naeem Sheikh, HAVCO’s Chief Executive on 0208 880 4035 or email: ns@havcoharingey.org.uk

What is a JSNA?
A Joint Strategic Needs Analysis (JSNA) describes the current and future health, care and well-being needs of a population and it aims to be a key resource for all organisations that have a role in improving health and well-being locally. Stakeholders, for example, funders, will use their JSNA’s to inform commissioning arrangements, buying new services that meet the needs of local people.
This year Haringey will be gathering data in the following areas: sexual health, mental health, vulnerable children and young people and the general information of population projections.
There is a general steering group for the JSNA, which HAVCO sits on. If you would like more information or would like to be involved, please contact Pamela Pemberton on 0208 880 4078/email: pp@havcoharingey.org.uk.
